We also really enjoyed the lights and music. The tour ends with the option of an “easy” or a “hard” way out of the cave. The hard way involves a bit of stooping and manoeuvring around some tight bends, but nothing too claustrophobic. We saw some extremely rare ferns growing in the cave, a a few of the micro bats as well. A great day out.

Some stairs/ramps but not tiring.... read more Tour guide very informative and gave us time for plenty of photos. We were given 2 ways to get out 1: back through the Cathedral or the "zig-zag" way. I would reccommend the zig-zag way... you weave through a tunnel like path and cross 2 suspension bridges. An added experience at no extra cost.

The... read more entire property was a wildlife sanctuary with kangaroos and a multitude of birds. This whole place had such a great vibe.

The next day we decided to take the tour of the caves and were even more impressed. The tour was fabulous and our guide so knowledgeable. He took us through exciting maze of limestone tunnels and stairs and demonstrated acoustics and other exciting details about the caves. There were two children who were amongst the party in our group and they were thoroughly enjoying themselves and at the same time getting an invaluable education. Highly recommend!

I arrived with minutes to spare, joining the 2pm tour. The lady conducting our tour was absolutely passionate, dedicated to the caves. She was funny and very interesting, adding to the experience.

Discovered in 1881 by a Norwegian immigrant, the caves were owned by the Olsen family until 1988, when they were purchased by a couple. Capricorn Caves are the largest privately owned cave system in Queensland. They are also a unique cave system.

Being claustrophobic, I elected to do a simple cave tour. However, for the more adventurous, it’s possible to do a 90 min caving experience. Highlight of our tour was the cathedral, when the guide turned off all lighting and played a superb piece of music, show-casing the acoustic’s of the cave.

Because of some maintenance work going on, as an extra we also had a visit to the Cathedral. Simply an enjoyable hour and a half.

The other families on our tour seemed to enjoy it too.
Would recommend insect repellent (I got bitten lots). Glad we had old clothes and clean clothes to change into in the car.

  Our tour was amazing we all had an awesome time and our tour guide, James, was great helping people who struggled, he definitely is worth more money
