1.The Capricorn Caves – Come and discover a dry rain forest & ancient limestone caves! This school holidays The Capricorn Caves are offering free entry for local kids on the Cathedral tour.  The tours run hourly on the hour & there is no need to book.  Take the kids on an adventure then dine in at the kiosk




2.Botanical Gardens Events – Rockhampton regional council have a range of events for children to participate in the Botanical gardens these school holidays. All events are free to participate in & is a great opportunity to get creative!

3.Yeppoon beachfront – With this warmer whether & summer approaching it’s a great opportunity to enjoy Yeppoon beachfront. Splash about in the wet area, or take your scooters & ride down the paths, then enjoy lunch at one of the cafes.

 4.Paper bead making – The Livingston Council have a school holiday workshop on Thursday 28th September

Join the Recycled Paper Bead Jewellery School Holiday Workshop with environmental artist Amber Countryman from Recycled Repurposed Remade.

Using pre-used recycled papers, your child will be shown how to cut to shape and roll the paper into various shaped beads. The finished beads will then be threaded onto pre-used string and discarded elastic to make individual necklaces and bracelets. Earrings can also be created and embellished with wire wrapping.



5. Rockhampton Zoo – This is always a favourite! Enjoy a walk around the zoo. One handy tip is to go at the feeding time & make you way around the zoo following the handlers as they feed the animals (kids loves the interaction!)

6. Flip out trampolines Rockhampton – Kids will love to burn off all that extra energy they usually burn off running around at school at Flip out trampolines! Its literally wall to wall trampolines for the kids to bounce around & go crazy.  7. Mt Archer walking tracks & lookouts – Take a drive up to Mt Archer & enjoy a leisurely stroll & magnificent views over Rockhampton. There are 4 different walks ranging from 400 meters to 14kms. With BBQs & picnic tables it’s a lovely spot for a picnic.
