Accessibility

Our Commitment

At Capricorn Caves, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the wonder of our caves. We are proud to announce the addition of a new DDA-compliant walkway, designed to make our iconic destination more accessible than ever before. This upgrade reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusion and aligns with Australian Standards for access and mobility.

What We Offer

Easy Access Pathways for Wheelchairs and Mobility Aids

Our newly upgraded accessible walkway provides safe, smooth, and easy access to both Cathedral Cave and Belfry Cave. Designed with gentle gradients and a stable, non-slip surface, it ensures that visitors using wheelchairs or other mobility aids can explore these incredible caves with greater comfort and confidence.

Accessibility-Friendly Toilets Designed with Comfort in Mind

We offer thoughtfully designed accessible toilets to support the needs of all visitors using wheelchairs or mobility aids. Each facility features a convenient location, generous circulation space, sturdy grab rails, and non-slip flooring, combining safety, comfort, and ease of use. Our goal is to ensure that every guest feels confident and cared for while enjoying their visit.

Front-of-Entrance Accessible Parking for Maximum Convenience

Dedicated accessible parking spaces are conveniently located right at the front of our main entrance, providing easy and stress-free access to the caves. All spaces are compliant with AS/NZS 2890.6:2009 standards, ensuring safety and convenience for visitors using mobility aids.

Our business is committed to accessibility. We offer wheelchair-accessible entrances and facilities to ensure everyone feels welcome.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: While the new walkway meets DDA requirements, please note that Capricorn Caves is a natural environment. Some internal cave sections remain challenging due to uneven surfaces and gradients. Guests using wheelchairs should be accompanied by a physically capable support person. Our staff will provide guidance but cannot physically assist with mobility.
