Caves and caravans Great tour if short on time. Tour guide very informative. We stayed at the van park overnight after a long travel day and needing to leave straight after the tour. Nice park well set out. Good amenities. Could benefit from additions to camp kitchen like microwave toaster kettle. Free wifi great for kids as not much else to do there.

Excellent activity near Rocky My husband and I were short on time so took the 45-minute Cathedral Cave Tour. We’ve been to Waitomo Caves in NZ so had high expectations and Capricorn Caves didn’t disappoint. Being dry caves, this was a different experience, but no less interesting or atmospheric. If we find ourselves in Rockhampton again, we’d love to do the 2-hour Capricorn Adventurer. A great place to visit and perfect for families.

Definitely worth a visit Loved this tour! Beautiful place and amazing caves. Only knew about it because I saw it on a map when I was planning my big trip and was intrigued.
Sadly, their campgrounds are only open during school holidays but there was parking available for cars with caravans attached. You can stay onsite in cabins if desired. Beautiful, peaceful spot. Road in was easy to navigate. Free wifi available onsite (handy if you need to check road conditions/make campsite accomodations). The big tour only goes once a day at 0930 and I was disappointed to miss it (having driven in from Proserpine) but the Cathedral tour goes on the hour and is great too.
The staff were friendly and helpful, I loved the educational displays. It would be a good spot to visit for a Home schooling outing as well.
Our guide was a young man who took extra effort to ensure everyone understood him and answered all our questions (even the ones about things he had already spoken about). His presentation manner was excellent.
The caves are awe inspiring! The accoustics of the cathedral are sublime and what an experience it is to listen to music in it. They turn the lights fully off and it is properly dark for a few minutes (gave me a chance to wipe my tears from hearing the beautiful music in such a wonderful place).
All in all, Im very glad I made the effort to see it.

Don’t miss this opportunity!!! The most fantastic way to spend an afternoon. Experience of a lifetime Guide was amazing, she was a wealth of information and made every crawl effortless, safe and fun. We laughed explored and learnt for 2 hours. Worth every cent! I’d do it again, next time with the family

Caving in with Flynn ! We thoroughly enjoyed the explorer tour. Both our guides were professional , friendly and knowledgeable. Especially Flynn who’s passion and enthusiasm for all things cave was evident ! The reception staff were also warm and welcoming.

It’s a great opportunity to dip your toes into caving and see if you want to go on to do more advanced experiences as you will climb, crawl and feel your way in some dark part through the caves.

Wear active clothing and good sturdy grip shoes. It’s a fairly active experience, but well paced with ample rest stops and great photo opportunities.

It’s a dry coral like cave , very different to caves in Tasmania for example , so with that in mind you will have a very unique and interesting view inside the hills of Central Queensland.

A fun and interesting morning out you can finish off either in the cafe or great little pub down the road !
